What position do you play Pivot, Blocker
How long have you been skating? 1.5 years
When did you join derby? March 2011
How did you get involved in derby? Some buddies forced me to come skate with them. I didn’t want to because I busted my front teeth out roller blading when I was 10 years old. But they put some quads on me and I loved it! I went up to La Bomba and said, “I think I have the hang of this. Where do I sign up?” Recently she told me that I, “Couldn’t skate at all when you talked to me! HA!”
Signature move: Sticking my butt out and getting in your way.
What role do you play behind the scenes? Announcing whenever and wherever I can! Check out the AFTDA for more info. Fresh meat coach alongside Slamerella.
Pre-bout ritual: I put on this ridiculous mask, it takes forever, but it calms me down. Then I like to hit the track and shuffle around to whatever sweet tunes the DJ’s playing.
Motivational quote: “OMG, It’s another beautiful day I get to play roller derby…”- Jackie Daniels
Derby heroes: “Adderoller” of CoMo Derby Dames, “Val Capone” of Windy City, Tracy “Disco” Akers of Denver RollerDolls, “Amanda Jamitinya” of Rocky Mountain Rollergirls, “Tannibal Lector” of Oly Rollers, “Smarty Pants” of Texacutioners, “Rock Nasty” of Nashville…There’s soooo many more!
What makes you have instant respect for a derby skater? Versatility on the track, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
What do you do outside of derby? I am a college student at the University of Arkansas and I work at Starlight Skatium.
Favorite derby moment so far? On Skates: Playing with, dancing with, and learning from my derby heroes at RollerCon 2011 / Off Skates: My first announcing gig was at RollerCon 2011 as well. It was the first all-female bout (skaters, officials, emt’s, coaches, announcers, etc.) to be put on at RollerCon since its inception! Val Capone handed me the mic and suddenly I was announcing for some of the biggest names in modern roller derby. it was nerve racking but it got my announcing career off on the right foot, now I can’t stop talking (obviously…)
Favorite derby teams? Denver Roller Dolls, No Coast Mad Maxines, Gotham Girls Roller Derby, CoMo Derby Dames, Oly Rollers, TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls, Team PICKA, San Diego Derby Dolls, Kansas City Roller Warriors, Gold Coast Derby Grrls
If you could remove one penalty from the game what would it be? Off the top of my head I can not think of a penalty that should be removed. All the rules are in place for either safety or uniformity of the game. Ex: No elbows to the face and certain uniform requirements. Seems legit to me!
What advice would you like to give up and coming derby players? Cross Train, Cross Train, Cross Train! Aside from skating as much as you possibly can, it’s important to study the rules, watch bouts, hit the gym, build your muscles and modify your diet so you can play as long, hard, and smart as you want.
Derby awards? NWARD 2010 Fresh Meat of the Year
Where are you from? Little Rock, Arkansas
How long have you lived here? I’ve lived in NorthWest Arkansas for 3 years now, but I’m a real Arkansawyer and haven’t lived in any other state!

Family? My moms Rita and Pam and my dad Ed are my biggest supporters and I love them so much!
