Skater for the Backwoods Betties and alternate for the Arkansas Killbillies
Scarlet Knuckles is an amazing derby gal. She has shown great improvement since joining the league, and has proven herself to a valuable blocker and jammer for the Backwoods Betties. Scarlet is always helpful both on and off the track. She is always there to help with various projects to help Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby keep going.
Scarlet divides her time between roller derby, school and being a rockin’ wife to her husband of 9 years, Tommy and her two children Sophia (8) and Jaxon (5).

Revenge Match!
Our next home bout of the season is sure to be amazing. The Backwoods Betties take on the Mo-Kan Roller Girlz from Baxter Springs, MO.
This will be the second time these two teams face each other and the tension is high.

First Home Bout – Sold Out Crowd!
Congratulations to the Arkansas Killbillies for a hard-fought match Saturday night, January 23rd at the Starlight Skatium to a capacity crowd. The Memphis Hustlin’ Rollers were victorious, 170 to 126.

Busting Out Against Breast Cancer Bout
The Backwoods Betties traveled to Oklahoma City to play against Oklahoma City Roller Derby on Saturday January 16th at the beautiful Historic Farmers Market. They fought hard for an amazing packed house, but fell short to a win by OKCRD of 126 to 101.
A great time was had by all and most importantly auction proceeds were raised for SHOUT, an organization supporting young women cancer survivors.

Saba has always been a driving factor in the success of NWA, she is an amazing skater and derby athlete. She is a loyal team player, always reliable, dependable, and there to help a fellow skater out if she can. We are very proud to have her on our league and name her our first ever Skater of the Month! And beware to all, she is back on skates and ready to dominate. I’m telling y’all its Saba Taj!!!
