Starlight Skatium was rockin’ this past Saturday as the NWA Natural Disasters took on the Mo-Kan Blockade in what proved to be a battle of the penalty box. The whistle had barely been blown to start the bout when Natural Disasters jammer Vanilla Slice was sent to the box on a track cut call. This left Mo-Kan with a full minute of scoring, which they took advantage of. Within the first few minutes of play, the Blockade had rocketed out to a 30 – 5 lead. The rest of the first half was dominated by Mo-Kan as the Natural Disasters continued to send blockers and jammers to the penalty box. With the help of several power jams and only a few blockers to contend with at a time, Mo-Kan increased their lead to almost 80 points before NWA started climbing back. By the end of the first half, Mo-Kan lead NWA 139 – 97.
